Hello and welcome. My name is Jeannie and I’m an experienced, qualified therapist. My Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and Bachelor of Social Services (Counselling) allow me to offer counselling using psychotherapeutic techniques.
I offer one to one therapy with adolescents and adults, and relationship therapy with couples. Consultations are up to 50 minutes each and are available Mondays to Fridays, by appointment only.
I’m an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), a Member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors (MNZAC), and a Provisional Member of New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists (NZAP).
My experience includes working with many issues including:
I also offer longer term therapy, using honesty, warmth and a non-judgmental approach. With more time, we explore personal issues at a deeper level, often going into personal histories, enabling healing to commence.
For you to get the most out of counselling it’s important you feel comfortable and that you can trust your therapist. If you haven’t used counselling before you will probably have some good questions about how it all works.
You may feel this is the right time to make the changes in your life and choose to work using CBT. You may feel you wish to work at a deeper level, to explore long held wounds and choose to use longer term therapy. The point is, the choice is yours. You are in control of your therapy.
