Areas of Special Interest
Are you experiencing any of the following?
Anxiety, Depression, Sexual/Emotional/Physical Abuse, Chronic Pain, Addiction (e.g. drugs, sex, gambling), Expat Issues (cultural adjustment issues), Trauma. Do you want to experience personal growth?
Life is rarely without its challenges. There are some, however, that can be so overbearing that it seems impossible to move on. The death of a loved one, overwhelming feelings of anxiety or traumatic experiences can hinder you from living a satisfying life. Or perhaps you keep on making the same mistakes and are you stuck in patterns you are unable to change, even though you really want to. It’s important you know that help is available for every problem life throws your way. Psychotherapy can help you take back control of your life.
I am trained in several types of therapy. Your individual situation will be assessed and the appropriate approach to therapy will be tailor made to suit your needs:
- Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
- Schema Focussed Therapy
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
- Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
Considering therapy is a courageous step. It can be difficult work, so it's essential to find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable. I work to create an atmosphere in which you can feel safe discussing painful feelings or tough issues. In doing so, you'll develop greater insight and awareness of distressing patterns, and discover more choices for yourself. We'll identify changes you can make for greater fulfillment and a more rewarding, meaningful life. Throughout this process, I'll offer patience, empathy and a gentle push when needed.
If you think I might be able to help, please feel free to call. I'm happy to discuss my practice and to answer whatever questions you may have.
