Counselling Services

I offer individual counselling in a safe, supportive space to express your concerns. Together we can explore the issues, make sense of what has happened and find new ways to move forward. I work with a wide range of clients and issues, including trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety and self confidence. My practice is LGBTQI friendly. I look forward to rich conversations with my clients.

Common benefits that my clients have reported experiencing are:

Reduction in intense emotions, reduction in emotional overwhelm, reduced anxiety, reduced trauma symptoms and enhanced sense of wellbeing. Life feels more comfortable and manageable and self confidence, sense of personal boundaries and relationships can feel healthier.

Counselling Approach

I am trained in DBT, (F)ACT, narrative therapy and person-centred. I value taking a holistic view, depending on client needs and preferences. I also seek to take a holistic approach in that relationship trauma affects the nervous system and often shows up in the body and this subsequently affects relational dynamics requiring a somatic approach to therapy.

My aim is to help my clients get a clearer understanding of what events, personal dynamics, understandings etc have happened or formed that led to difficulties, what is currently happening that is causing ongoing difficulties and then identify alternative stories about yourself or clear steps that can be taken consciously, (or that may automatically start to unfold in your life as a result of therapy). Life happens, – but often what we are looking for is a future that’s not dictated by the past or destined to repeat itself over and over. And that’s where therapy can really help!
