About Carol

I’m a professional Counsellor with counselling experience in many areas, such as depression, anxiety, grief, couples counselling, mental health issues and Sexual Abuse/Assault. I have spent a number of years working in the field of mental health, counselling families and individuals who have been effected by mental illness.

What I think makes my service distinctive are my strong clinical skills and mature outlook. I demonstrate a strong respect for the values and belief systems of others while remaining supportive, broad minded and non-judgemental. I have a caring and empathetic nature, helping to put my clients at ease.

One of the aspects I like most about my job, is making a positive difference in people’s lives, helping people through challenging situations and reaching a positive outcome with clients who present with a wide variety of issues. This is made easier due to my strengths of excellent communication, and interpersonal and listening skills. I am able to develop strong relationships with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds by demonstrating empathy and ensuring private matters remain confidential.

I live in the Wairarapa with my husband Andy. We have been married for 34 years and have four adult children together. Also included in the family are two cats, three alpacas and numerous ducks and chickens. When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my family, or gardening, sewing and renovating our 1910 house.

Q Sessions and Pricing

My counselling sessions are 50 minutes in length, with a fee of $130 for individuals and $150 for couples and families. All prices include GST.

For Private Bookings we have EFTPOS on site and accept all EFTPOS debit payment cards or bank transfer through internet banking.

Q Are You Struggling Financially?

Each week I allow two spaces for clients who may be struggling to afford my standard prices, so let me know if this is you. If I can't fit you in at a different agreed price, I can put you on a waiting list.

If you are on a low income or even a WINZ benefit, you may be eligible for funding from WINZ to cover the costs of counselling - you don't even need to be on a WINZ benefit. With the Disability Allowance, WINZ can pay $64.29 a week toward the costs of your counselling. This amount is payable each week, even if you see a counsellor once a fortnight.
