Dr Charlotte Chalmers

A shared goal of change and growth.

I believe that it is a privilege to walk alongside individuals on their journey of psychological wellness. I emphasise a warm and client-centred therapeutic style, which will be individually tailored to meet your needs and goals.

Areas of Special Interest

I offer professional and thorough psychological assessment and treatment for a range of different mental health difficulties.

Counselling/Therapy Services

We all experience a range of emotions every single day. Sadness, anxiety, joy, anger, excitement, and happiness, are all part of a fulfilling human experience. However, are some emotions getting in the way of what’s important to you or someone you care about?

Let me help you to learn more about these emotions and find your inner calm. We will work together on research-proven coping strategies for alleviating the psychological difficulties you may be experiencing. My goal is to set you up with a range of practical techniques, that will consider your values and keep you on a journey of psychological wellness.

Stepping inside the therapeutic environment can be a challenging experience. To mitigate against an uncomfortable experience, I emphasise a warm, genuine, calm and non-judgemental environment. The therapy room is a space for the expression of all emotions and confidential discussions about your identity and journey.

Together we will discover the thoughts and behaviours that may have created a detour on your journey to psychological wellness. We will then come up with an action plan, which includes what changes need to be made to get you back on track.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults and my therapeutic style will meet the stage of life you are currently in. I mostly see individuals, however when working with children, caregivers often need to be involved. I use an integrative approach in my work and have training and experience in a number of different therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and Problem-solving Therapy.
