For over 30 years our mission has been to support and empower survivors of sexual violence, family harm and other trauma by providing a professional and culturally appropriate 24/7 Crisis Response Service and Counselling Service within a safe, supportive and respectful environment. Our counsellors have specialist skills in working with children, adolescents, adults and their whanau. CSC was set up in 1986, changed its name from South Auckland HELP to CSC in 1992, and became a charitable trust in 1998. Our service has broadened to include services to those in Counties Manukau whose lives are affected by domestic and family violence, homicide, relationship difficulties, grief, addiction, depression or anxiety, and a school programme for students affected by family harm.
Our passionate, dedicated and multicultural team provides short and long term counselling and social work services to ensure client safety and help minimise the impact of post-traumatic stress disorder on the client, empowering, and helping them on their journey to emotional health and well-being. We offer a full wrap-around service, from entry by self referral or referral from other agencies, to social work needs assessment, to short or long term counselling.
Our therapy approach is client-centred, trauma-informed and culturally sensitive. We use new information about brain function and neuropsychology.
