Counselling/Therapy Services

We live in a world where there are so many expectations placed upon us; from having social connections, to being able to make ends meet, to the way our bodies look. Navigating life’s ups and downs is tough enough, and when unexpected stressors are thrown into the mix it can be easy to let our problems overwhelm us! Sometimes, to pause and talk through what has led us to feeling trapped is the best thing we can do to move past that feeling.

Sometimes, it can feel too difficult to talk to a loved one, maybe fear of judgement, or just not wanting to put problems on someone else hold you back from opening up. I recognise that the idea of talking to a stranger might also be daunting. I aim to offer you a safe, warm and non-judgmental space to unpack the stories, experiences and thoughts that are impacting your life. We will move at your pace, and I will walk alongside you as we separate your identity from the problems that are trying to define you, and work towards living a life that is in line with the things you value.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

My approach to therapy is thoughtful and reflective. I am trained in Narrative and Collaborative therapies, which centre on the idea that people are the experts in their own lives, and see people’s identity as separate from their problems.

I aim to do this by restructuring the stories in life that have people feeling like they have failed, and tease out the forgotten or neglected stories in which they have succeeded in surviving life to this point, as a reminder that they possess the skills, values and abilities to face life’s difficulties and lead a fulfilling life.
