Counselling/Therapy Services

In the short term, I can help you address a specific issue that is currently affecting you, such as dealing with a period of heightened stress or anxiety or working through a normal life transition that you are struggling with. An in the longer term I can help you resolve deeper seated issues and longer standing problems that restrict you from living a vital and fulfilled life and having satisfying relationships.

I work using EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) to help couples find new ways of relating to each other to overcome negative patterns of communicating, and create a more secure, loving and trusting relationship.

Parenting Coaching
You may be struggling with a particular behaviour in your child and not knowing how to respond; maybe not enjoying parenting or feeling stuck in family dynamics that are stressful or unhelpful; or you want to learn a few more skills to parent more confidently. After getting a clear picture of the issues and the needs of your child, I work to empower you in implementing specific strategies to address your concerns and create a more harmonious and happy home environment.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

My training in psychotherapy is in Transactional Analysis. I’ve also trained in Psychodrama and various others which I integrate to offer a way of working that attends to emotion and body awareness, as well as thoughts and behaviour. This work sits within the safety of a built therapeutic relationship between us.

For couples I focus in identifying their relationship and attachment patterns and how they influence the way each tries to get their needs met, and how to shift negative dynamics in a lasting way.

For parenting I can offer a skills based approach and support in implementing strategies to get the changes desired, or a more in depth approach to heal deeper issues between parent and child that underlie behaviour challenges.

For the last 6 years, I have also been facilitating the Incredible Years parenting programme in the community, and working alongside parents to support them with parenting issues so that they can parent confidently and raise resilient children.
