Welcome to Adapt Psychology

My focus is to help individuals create meaningful lives and to develop resilience to cope with the inevitable challenges that life throws at them. I believe that everyone, no matter what their circumstances, has skills, traits, and qualities that serve them well. I aim to create an environment where we can build on what works and refine or redirect efforts when they are keeping you stuck.

I am able to provide short and long term therapy depending on your difficulties and preferences.

 

I can help you with

  • Health: Coping with chronic illness and disability. Rehabilitation (e.g. pain, fatigue, functional neurological disorder, post-concussion syndrome etc). Improving health-related behaviours (e.g. sleep, binge-eating, weight management, stress management).
  • General: Anxiety, Depression, Stress management, Mild-Moderate PTSD, Grief, Anger, Communication, Burnout, Work place well-being and resilience.
  • Sport: Athlete burnout, Injury management and rehabilitation, Performance anxiety.

 

Therapeutic Approach

Juliette has training in a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Mindful Self-Compassion, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She uses a collaborative and strengths-based approach, acknowledging that everyone has uniques skills that can be grown and adapted to improve resilience and well-being. Juliette has also been involved in Powerlifting at a national level and has an interest in issues around athlete rehabilitation and well-being.

 

Background and Experience

Juliette trained at the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at the University of Auckland completing the Health Psychology programme. She has worked within a range of physical health services in District Health Boards. Additionally, Juliette has worked for a number of years providing rehabilitation and mental health services for ACC. She is also an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Auckland and has been involved in supervising Intern Psychologists.

 

Supervision Services

I have completed supervision training and have experience supervising 3 intern psychologists who have all successfully graduated and registered. I am able to provide supervision services to Registered Psychologists, Intern Psychologists, and other Allied Health professionals.

Limited availability on Thursday and Friday.

Q Fees

- Initial assessments take 90 minutes and cost $270
- Follow up sessions take 50-60 minutes and cost $180
- payment can be made by Internet Banking
