Background and ExperienceAlongside my private practice I work part time in the mental health sector with families/whanau/carers of people suffering from mental health problems and dependence (on drugs, alcohol, gambling). I have experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, cultures, ages and sexual orientations. In the past, I worked as a Telephone Counsellor with Lifeline; and as a School Guidance Counsellor in a multicultural secondary school.I have extensive life experience and have managed life transitions and new challenges successfully. As a registered member of the NZ Association of Counsellors (MNZAC), I abide by its Code of Ethics. I have regular professional supervision and participate in personal and professional development activities. Supervision ServicesI provide supervision for people in the caring profession to benefit from regular support and prevent burnout. I believe that a supervision relationship is based on collaboration. I encourage my supervisees to share any aspect of their practice that needs to be addressed, knowing that they are not judged but rather encouraged to refine their practice. |
