Areas of Special Interest
It gives me great joy to work with a variety of clients who are challenged by anger, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, stress, trauma, confidence and self esteem difficulties and learning challenges.
In our current world people are expected to enter into a competitive and turbulent world of rapid changes. Skills that are needed would be flexibility, versatility, innovation, creativity, self motivation (to enable a person to make his or her own choices and act on them) social skills (this includes respecting one self as well as understanding and respecting others and their values and cultures), emotionally competent (to be compassionate towards others, to understand and manage uncomfortable emotions), courage and confidence (to be responsible to be able to learn from their mistakes and to keep on trying).
My passion to make a difference and live up to my purpose in life (to give all people the spark of hope that ignites the process of continuous change in their lives and the lives of others) encourages me to create a safe, nurturing and secure space to help and support children, young adults and adults to be brave to approach difficult and uncomfortable issues as well as to heal, connect with their inner selves and to develop the qualities and strengths to ultimately live a more optimal and meaningful life.
I prefer to work eclectic, which means once my client and myself completed an initial assessment we determine together what form of therapy will be the most helpful in order to achieve the best outcome. It can include: ACT, CBT, EMDR, Somatic Therapy, Sand Play Therapy, Play Therapy / Thera play, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy (SFBT), Gestalt, Gottman Methods.

Background and Experience
I am an ex teacher who not only taught a culturally diverse group of children, including those challenged by special needs, exceptional traumatic lives and learning challenges, but also young adults and adults. This sparked my passion further never to give up and look until a solution has been found. This encouraged me to study and become a psychologist.
I have been privileged for the past 20 years (in South Africa, Singapore, Bali and New Zealand) to be part of people’s lives in a variety of areas such as neuro-development immaturities, academic difficulties, trauma, attachments, emotional difficulties (depression, anxiety, anger, stress), relationship and family difficulties.
