I am Christian with an open mind respecting all faith journeys and people's values.
I count it a privilege to journey alongside you, at a challenging time in your life, to help you resolve difficulties you are dealing with. In the counselling session, I endeavor to offer you an hour of space that is devoted to you. You will be listened to and helped to explore difficulties or concerns as you are held with unconditional positive regard and without criticism.
The safe space of trust and acceptance that is offered to you will allow you to put your thoughts and feelings into words, and in doing so you will gain some understanding and control over them. You will also be encouraged to re-author your life by making changes, oriented towards greater personal strength and wholeness.
I do value a holistic approach in therapy, and can offer you various tools to help you maintain a more balanced life style aiming towards a healthier and more fulfilled way of being.
I would encourage you at all times to tell me if you have any concerns about any aspect of our work together. I will be very happy to listen to you if anything bothers you.
I use a range of counselling approaches including:
- Person-centered Therapy
- Narrative Therapy
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Solution-focused Therapy
- Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping Therapy
I aim towards holistic healing and use various tools to complement the counselling methods that I use. These include working with Small Figures, relaxation techniques for stress relief including: diaphragmatic breathing, visualization, progressive muscle relaxation, cue association, body scan meditation and mindfulness meditation.
