Counselling Services

Seeking counselling can be a stressful process, so your initial appointment will be an opportunity for us to see if we are a good fit for one another. I will do my best to make you feel comfortable and put words to what your goals and intentions are, and we will reflect on how counselling can support you best.

Life being unpredictable, we may not feel prepared enough to face certain events, whether it is the death of a loved one, a divorce, difficulties at work or changes in our life plans. Sometimes we have been experiencing painful feelings for years, perhaps without exactly knowing why we feel this way, and we can feel guilt, despair or shame about it.

Counselling can provide a personalised support to help us uncover painful patterns we no longer need, and explore the messages our “symptoms” are trying to convey. From the acceptance of whatever is present and alive in us, we can start redefining what our needs are, change our perception of ourselves, and therefore of the world around us.

Counselling Approach

I work from a psychodynamic perspective. Exploring our past in order to uncover old patterns of attachment can help us understand better how they may still interfere with our current relationships with others, ourself and the world, and therefore, may prevent us from becoming a more grounded and confident version of ourself.

My approach is also humanistic and relational, as I endeavour to be present alongside you whatever you are experiencing, and to offer you an empathetic space where your needs and boundaries can be named, heard, respected and developed. Observing what is alive in the here and now of the counselling space, by putting words to your thoughts, emotions and physical sensations, can help you develop a better sense of yourself.

I usually work on a weekly basis with my clients, but I am open to talk about it with you if that is not your preference.

About Me

I am originally from France where I graduated as a clinical psychologist in 2009. I arrived in Wellington in 2015 and lived there until 2022. I now live between France and New Zealand, which is why I offer online sessions only.

Important to know: I am currently in New Zealand and can set appointments between 9am and 6pm. However, after I move back to France in a few months, I will only be available for morning and evening appointments, because of the time difference.

In France, I have worked as a psychologist with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. I provided mental health support in an association for single parents and an association accompanying people suffering from chronic depression and/or presenting a suicidal risk. I also worked alongside employees experiencing difficulties at work. Since I arrived in Wellington, I have been working as a counsellor at the Women’s Health Collective, then set up my own private practice.
