Areas of Special Interest
Anxiety, stress, trauma, abuse, depression, addiction, sexuality, anger management, relationship difficulties, work-related difficulties, procrastination, immigration or adjustment-related challenges.
I provide a safe, confidential, and compassionate space to explore the challenges with which you might be struggling.
After careful consideration of the current issue, your life stage, particular needs, and preferred way of working, I will support you to develop the necessary capacities, gain insight, and shape your future towards a rich and meaningful life.
I am experienced in both short- and long-term therapy.
I am also a mindfulness practitioner and have been a yoga instructor. It is therefore natural for me to welcome a dialogue about the inter-relatedness of body and mind when this is appropriate.
I am experienced in working with members of the LGBTIQ community.
If you would like to discuss your needs or have questions about counselling and psychotherapy, you are welcome to contact me
for an initial conversation.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy forms the backbone of my therapeutic approach. I also find it useful to draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapeutic approaches.
When you begin psychotherapy with me, you will find us working together to find an approach that best suits your needs. As therapy progresses, we will have ongoing conversations about your needs and how you are tracking on your pathway to addressing these.

Background and Experience
I have postgraduate training in psychodynamic psychotherapy. I also have 10 years’ experience in crisis management and behaviour support and previously worked at an agency supporting people with sexuality and healthy sexual expression. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I held management roles in quality assurance.
In addition to my private practice, I am also currently employed in supporting young people and their families struggling with parenting challenges and the many difficulties and challenges young people encounter in contemporary New Zealand.
