I work with people who have had enough of struggling and confusion and who are reaching for wellbeing and resilience.
Experience has taught me that sharing difficulties with a caring and effective listener can help us live more adventurously and more at ease in our own skin. We work as a team towards useful and achievable goals that you choose – and that may mean figuring out what your goals are first.
I work with individuals over the age of 30, and see partners who have issues with intimacy, sex and sexuality.
I do not discriminate on the basis of gender, sex, sexual orientation or ethnicity
We will have some initial contact, often by email and then by phone, to see if we fit sufficiently to make a first appointment. All first appointments are consultations to more fully ensure that we are the right fit together and last about 1¼ hours. During that time we will complete about 10-15 minutes worth of paperwork. The rest of the time we get to know each other and what has brought you to therapy.
Because of my restricted hours, I no longer work with serious issues such as violence, trauma, abuse (including sexual abuse), suicidality, illegal behaviours and personality difficulties. If any of these arise during our work together, after discussing it with you I am likely to refer you to a colleague who specialises in that issue.

Background and Experience
I am a psychotherapist, counsellor and clinical supervisor. I started my counselling life in the early 1990’s at Lifeline on the phones and then moved on to face-to-face. After study, training and experience, I have an established private practice in Warkworth and Orewa.
I am a mother, stepmother and grandmother with a wide variety of personal and professional experience. In my time off I play the ukulele badly and have fun doing it.
I also supervise health practitioners who wish to make the most they can of themselves and their practice.
