Therapeutic Conversations

Sometimes two people are better than one in making sense of what life brings our way and moving towards new possibilities and hope.

I have experience working with a wide range of life issues such as:

  • relationships
  • trauma
  • anxiety
  • stress
  • depression
  • emotional regulation
  • search for meaning, purpose and identity
  • self-esteem
  • midlife and other transitions

Counselling Services

Counselling, spiritual direction, and supervision offer opportunities to pause our busy lives and reflect on what is going on deep within. These therapeutic conversations create a new awareness of what may cause you distress and conflict, and what may be keeping you stuck and not able to live the way you would like. Identifying the history and effects of these problems will help you to develop a pathway forward and to live with greater levels of joy, intentionality, insight, and freedom.

My PhD considered transformational processes and the healing power of writing therapy. To foster an ongoing healing journey I encourage my clients to engage in writing tasks in between sessions.

Counselling Approach

Seeing people thrive in their lives and develop to their full potential as they move towards new possibilities and hope is my delight. As a spiritual director and therapist, I have always been interested in the intersection of psychology and spirituality. I have been fascinated by what I call “sacred moments”, those mysterious peak experiences that often lead to new insights, breakthroughs and change. I work in a holistic way and desire to create an environment that welcomes such moments. The three Maori concepts of mana, mauri, and tapu are intrinsic to all my work. An interest in the journey and process of transformation has been with me for a very long time.

About Me

After leaving my home country (Germany) I travelled the world, settled in Aotearoa, New Zealand, and married a true Kiwi. We have one daughter in her twenties. My career path included lecturing at Unitec (teaching languages, intercultural communication, interpreting, teacher education), working in a counselling clinic, and in private practice.

Supervision Services

I provide supervision for spiritual directors, counselors, therapists, and other professionals and see supervision as an important part of one’s personal and professional development.
