Loss affects every one of us during our lifetime. Different losses can create different effects on each of us and there is no one way that it can, or should, be experienced.I work collaboratively and respectfully with people to discover ways (that are right for them)to live around their loss.
I work alongside people of all ages as individuals, couples and family groups. I particularly enjoy working with young adults.
“Narrative Therapy seeks to be a respectful, non-blaming approach to counselling and community work, which centres people as the experts in their own lives, It views problems as separate from people and assumes people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives.”

I have had over 20 years experience specialising in this area of work. I counselled in the area of sexual and women’s health for over 10 years around such things as relationships, sexuality, sexual abuse, menopause, pregnancy issues, pre-menstrual tension, stillbirth and miscarriage.
I worked for several years as a career counsellor and then as a coach. As a career counsellor I worked with young adults starting out in employment, people seeking a new career direction, those experiencing the impacts of loss of employment, and those experiencing difficulties in the workplace.
I worked as a counsellor at North Shore Hospice for over 9 years alongside those who were terminally ill, those who cared for them and people who had been bereaved.
