Counselling/Therapy Services

Anthony offers individual face-to-face therapeutic support in therapy rooms located in Orewa as well as behavioural support for families within their homes. This support can be either short term or long term, depending on your need.

Anthony’s therapeutic approach aims to empower the client to better manage their current struggles by focusing on their present strengths, resources, and values. Early on in therapy we will set goals of what you hope to achieve and then work collaboratively toward these goals with the aim of helping you achieve a well balanced and empowering life.

 

Counselling/Therapy Approach

Anthony adopts a range of therapeutic approaches to best meet your needs. Anthony’s main psychological/therapeutic approaches include:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT)
  • Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)

Anthony is also trained to facilitate the Triple P parenting programme (Level 4 Standard, Teen, and Stepping Stones).

 

Background and Experience

Anthony is a registered psychologist working in New Zealand who has a number of years’ experience working with individuals of all ages via a number of different working roles and therapeutic modalities. Anthony has experience working with young people and adults with a range of needs and difficulties such as anxiety, anger and aggression, depression, and experiences of trauma and abuse. Anthony also has significant experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and those living with the impact of a traumatic brain injury.

- Postgraduate Diploma in Psychological Practice
