FAQs

Q How long are sessions and how many will I need?

Sessions are usually 60 minutes once a week. There is an option for fortnightly appointments depending on the presenting issue/s and what you are comfortable with. For continuity of care, I recommend having weekly sessions until the 'crisis' stage has passed or has been minimised.

Q What does a session cost? How do I pay? What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Session investment is :
$90 per 60 minutes for individuals and couples via phone or Zoom; and
$110 PER 60 mins for individuals and couples seen in person.
*I also offer Walk and Talk sessions as an option. This is usually 45 mins $75*

WINZ payment is accepted.

Payment is made by online banking prior to your appointment. Details given after an initial assessment. I will confirm your appointment once payment has been received.

Please note, cancellation of appointment not made within 24hrs will result in a charge of half the applicable fee.

Q What are your qualifications? What are your memberships?

I have a Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) in Counselling qualification from Auckland University of Technology (AUT).

I also have certification of attendance for courses:
- IMAGO Relationship Therapy (Fundamentals)
- SHINE: Family violence and effective response to people experiencing this.
- CLASS: How to Teach Adults (Group facilitation)
- Grief Centr: Understanding Self Harm
- Grief Centre: Bereavement through Suicide and other relevant online trainings through Werry Workforce Wharaurau.

I am a Provisional Member of New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) and receive professional supervision as their requirement.

Q Are you seeing clients in person?

Until further notice, due to the C19 protection framework I am only seeing clients via phone, Zoom or Google meets platforms.
*WALK AND TALK SESSIONS NOW AVAILABLE*

I will resume face to face sessions in the near future.

Q What therapy/approach do you use?

I use :
Narrative Therapy
Solution Focused Approach
Person Centred Approach
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

The approach or therapy is determined on a client's presenting issue and may change as sessions progress.

Q Is my information confidential?

Yes. Information provided and discussed in session is private & confidential. However, if there is a risk of harm to self or others, we (client & counsellor) will have a discussion about the possible need to share information with other relevant health organisation/s in order to keep you and others safe.
