I can offer a space to look at the difficulties together. Trying to build enough trust to understand and process current feelings of anger, sadness, guilt or whatever is present. Making sense of our stories and how we got to this place.
I have been trained in more than one modality of psychotherapy. Initially I completed the Gestalt therapy training and over the years I have added Jungian theories, Schema therapy, Mindfulness and self compassion, and other strategies which will be useful at different phases of treatment.
I like to work on a formulation together, a kind of “piecing together” the puzzle of our lives to make sense of the present. This is our guide to go forward.
I am happy to see people for short term or long term work depending on your needs.
As I am a psychiatrist I am also happy to discuss medication, if we decide this is needed, and liaise with you GP to give some recommendations .
Finally I have supervised registrars , other counsellors and therapists for 20 years and I really enjoy this work .
