My aim as a therapist is to increase people’s own understanding of their difficulties and to support them in developing the skills and tools to live a life of meaning. I am a non-judgmental, warm, and highly empathic clinician. My therapeutic approach is holistic, client-centered, and strength-based. I focus on each person’s individual needs, whilst drawing on evidence-based models of therapy to bring about positive change. I offer both short and long term therapy depending on the needs of those whom I work with.
I have experience working with people of different ages and cultural backgrounds in a variety of mental health settings. I have worked with adults and young adults who were experiencing a wide range of mental health related difficulties. I have experience of working with interpreters. My work has been and continues to be guided by the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
