Dr Sally Jansen

Counsellor & EMDR Therapist

I offer a range of high quality therapy services across a range of psychological health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma & PTSD, life crises, decisions and changes, phobias and OCD.  My work with clients can be short, medium or long-term depending on your needs and objectives.

How I Can Help

Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.
                                                                                                     ― Shannon L. Adler

This is one of my favourite quotes.   All of us experience challenges in life. Sometimes we can work through these ourselves or with the help of family and friends. At other times, it is more difficult. We might feel paralysed by fear or anxiety, overwhelmed by grief and sadness, or experience a sense of hopelessness or despair about life or our relationships that sees us stuck and often repeating the same unhelpful patterns and behaviours.

As an experienced, qualified, counsellor and EMDR therapist, I will help you to make sense of what is happening, support you to process distressing emotions and experiences, identify old patterns of behaviour that are no longer serving you well, and learn new ways of relating to yourself and others. I offer a practical, pragmatic approach as well as support, information and resources to support you to move forward in your life.

I am also a trained EMDR therapist. EMDR helps people heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences and is also used for anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias and other issues. For many clients, EMDR can be completed in fewer sessions and can achieve more enduring results than standard talk therapy approaches.

My Approach

My therapy approach is warm, respectful and collaborative.

Therapy sessions are completely personalised to suit your individual situation and way of working. Clients have told me they enjoy my practical approach that focuses on identifying tangible steps that are relevant and achievable.

I offer a range of different therapies, including EMDR Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Transactional Analysis (TA), and Neurosychotherapy.
