I am a qualified, experienced counsellor who will provide you with a safe, supportive and confidential environment within which to work with me. I will help you understand, explore and clarify your issues. Together we will move forward positively towards achieving your goals.
Counselling helps people make sense of their world and to recognise they have choices. I will work with you to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, behaviours, experiences and beliefs. I will work respectfully and safely with you allowing you to feel free to express yourself. I listen non-judgementally with unconditional positive regard to help you make any desired changes and / or to lead a more resourceful life and help you achieve your goals. I will work with you at your own pace and we will talk together to establish what would be most helpful for you. Counselling is like an extra set of eyes to vie w our lives through. I offer a safe place where people can feel heard, supported and facilitated towards change. I seek to understand my clients in the context of the realities of their environment and to help them gain insight, explore choices for change, develop new strategies to manage challenges and develop resilience. I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues and with people of all ages. I am a warm and caring counsellor committed to the benefits of counselling and your well being.
I am flexible in my approach which is individualised for each client depending on their current needs. I work with the following approaches
I have worked extensively with children, young people and adults with a wide range of issues. I have facilitated and co-facilitated a range of therapeutic workshops for children on topics such as family change, bereavement and having a parent with an addiction or mental health issue. I run parenting through separation classes for Ministry of Justice. I am a trained Lifeline worker and have worked voluntarily providing the telephone counselling service for Lifeline. I have done extensive on-site support work for workplaces and employment assisted programmes for work issues.
