Counselling/Therapy Services

Life isn’t always easy, and we aren’t always taught how to handle crisis and recover from trauma or deal with stress. Counselling is a way of putting yourself first, in order to put your best self forward. Think of it like a car service, it needs to be done in order for a car to work well and everything usually runs much more smoothly afterwards.

My counselling service is designed to help you develop a strong sense of self, learn skills that can be used in real-world situations as well as developing the confidence to move forward in life the way that you wish.

Walk and Talk sessions, ideal for clients who find face to face slightly intimidating or enjoy exercise and are trying to achieve physical health also.

Equine Assisted Learning sessions for individuals, school groups, and corporate teams in Glen Eden also available. Please email for more info.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

I use therapeutic approaches where research has shown to be effective. I am trained in Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Response Based Therapy but am eclectic in my approach as no individual is the same, there is no one therapy fits all.

Narrative therapy is a respectful, non-blaming approach to counselling, which centres people as experts in their own lives. It views problems as separate from people and assumes people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives.
