Fleur is available to work with children, youth, adults, and families. She supports people to explore their life difficulties and bring about positive change. This can be short term with a specific focus, or longer term looking at life patterns.
Fleur has extensive experience in the fields of human development, health, and education and brings these aspects to her counselling practice. She is able to work with a wide range of clients.
Fleur is able to help clients explore areas of life difficulty and options for change. Sometimes patterns of life and relationships can become entrenched, even when they are not working for the good in our lives, and the lives of people we care about. It can be helpful and transforming to talk these situations through with a supportive counsellor.
Fleur believes each client brings their own strengths and wisdom to the counselling experience, and values their feedback for moving forward in the counselling process. Fleur works from a combined approach, including Person-Centred therapy, Narrative, Cognitive-Behavioural, and Family Systems. She works in partnership with clients to guide the approach chosen.
She abides by the NZAC Code of Ethics, and has a current practising certificate.
She welcomes questions about the counselling process.
Prior to counselling, Fleur has a background in Nursing and teaching Nursing and Human Development at AUT University. She has also worked at Youthline. She currently combines part-time private counselling practice, with part-time work as a college school counsellor working with youth and their families.
