I began my journey in mental health in 2014 studying a bachelor of arts majoring in psychology and minoring in conflict resolution. During my time studying psychology I developed my skills and knowledge of many different therapeutic techniques, most notably DBT skills as I did an internship with the Mason clinic adapting therapeutic manuals based on DBT for their service. since I started that degree I have never looked back and my passion for helping people has only grown. I continued on to develop my skills and have attained a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in counselling where I learnt to apply and mould together many of the skills I learnt during my psychology degree and really hone in on my practical ability to help people. Completing my counselling degree has allowed me to live my dream of becoming a counsellor and using my skills to support people in need.
Outside of counselling I have had the opportunity to travel around the world and represent New Zealand in my sport of Karate. I have used this experience to develop an understanding of different cultures and of how our minds work during high pressure situations and develop skills that allows me to help people achieve goals that the never new they could achieve.
I believe that everyone is the expert in their own life but we all need support and guidance when things get blurry and we lose our way. I like to use my own learning and experiences to help you find your own way through. we all have the ability to live a fulfilling and successful life and the journey begins in our minds and progresses into actions. I strive to provide a space where you can develop the skills and mindset to achieve your goals in the future.
