Personal statement/ a little about me:

• As a counsellor I have been able to blend my passion for seeing people thrive and excel in life with my natural capacity to show compassion and to nurture people’s wellbeing. I see it as a great privilege to work alongside people and watch others to grow into the best versions of themselves. I take this privilege seriously and rely on evidence based therapeutic approaches that both ensure your wellbeing and a high professional standard of care. By providing a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space I hope to facilitate an environment that assists you to better understand yourself and explore ways to live a more full life.

Counselling Approach:

• My counselling approach is embedded in Client-Centered Practice, which upholds the belief that people are the experts in their own life. In my sessions I use evidence based therapeutic approaches such as, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, all underpinned by a Strength based approach. How I use these modalities will depend on each individual’s unique experience.

 Areas of Special Interest:

• I have seven years of experience working as a Drug and Alcohol Clinician. I specialize in addiction work and have a passion for working with people and families who are on their recovery journey. I also have many years of experience working through individuals childhood trauma, family systems, anxiety, social anxiety, depression, relationship and identity/self-esteem challenges and the effects trauma has on us as adults.
