Counselling Services

Lindsay’ counselling approach is one of actively listening to his clients while identifying issues to discuss and possibly put some emphasis on. He takes an interest in your thoughts and beliefs and how they influence your decisions and life outcomes. Communication with others can be complicated by perceptions and triggers so he helps the client understand what may be happening when an incident occurs. His belief is that the role of a counsellor is to help the client gain self-awareness and the skills to deal with what he/she now knows about themselves.

Counselling Approach

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Interactive Drawing Therapy

Background and Experience

I have been a counsellor for 22 years working in addiction services, prison settings, a family non-violence provider and in general counselling. These settings have led to me gaining leadership, research, report writing, and conflict resolution skills along with an ability to remain calm in stressful situations. I have learned a lot from the people who I’ve met and consider myself to be someone who listens, understands and accepts people from all walks of life.

Supervision Services

I offer clinical supervision for counsellors, social workers, community workers and workplace issues.
