Counselling Services

I am a compassionate, non-judgmental person who is motivated in helping people find solutions to their challenges and achieve their goals. I know that reaching out can be difficult and takes a lot of courage. As a qualified counsellor I aim to provide a safe, supportive environment where you can begin to explore those life challenges You may be feeling lost and overwhelmed I will provide a space for you to move forward at your own pace listening to your goals for you desired future is important as it is your time to explore yourself and develop in areas of your need.

 

Counselling Approach

I provide a safe environment for clients to process and recover from trauma, gain self awareness and confidence from addictions.

You the client is an expert in your world and I as your therapist am there to support you in your journey to bettering your life and provide tools you can use. I am trained in the use of drawing therapy and Narrative therapy (your story – how you want to write your next chapter. I work with Your strengths (what’s already in your waka). My approach to therapy is a select combination on one or more of these therapies that work best for you and your situation We set goals together and I walk with you with my Kete of skills to help you achieve your destination.

 

About Me

As a result of my own personal experiences with addiction and recovery I know first hand how important it is for individuals to feel truly understood and not judged when it comes to the reality of addiction. My personal experience with addiction enables me to walk alongside my clients with empathetic and non-judgmental understanding. I also understand the dynamics of post traumatic disorder, depression, anxiety, social anxiety disorder which feed into active addiction. Personal experience and training have bought me to the place I am now and can help you through to grow and experience the life you desire.

Q Registrations and Memberships

Q Qualifications

- Diploma of Counselling
- Applied Addictions (Otago Polytechnic)

Q Appointments

- Currently I have spaces on Thursdays with some flexibility on other days

Q Fees

- I provide a free 15 minute counselling session via a phone call.
- Fees for a 1 hour session are $120 with a sliding scale depending on your income.
- payment can be made by Bank transfer.
