Areas of Special Interest

I draw upon a number of perspectives, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

Common reasons for therapy include anxiety, depression, stress, and low self esteem.

About Me

I am a Registered Educational Psychologist and attained my Master’s degree in neuropsychology at the University of Auckland. I have advanced training in behavioural and psychological assessments and intervention through Massey University.

The simple fact is, I love working with people. I recognise that everyone is the ‘expert’ in their own lives – my role is to assist you and/or your child to learn skills to successfully face life’s challenges, build happiness, health and productivity.

I provide three types of services:

Counselling and Therapy

Provided for children, adolescents and adults.

Parenting Solutions and Behaviour Management

I offer scientifically grounded, relationship-based parenting tools that are realistic and can easily be put to use. My training in applied behavioural analysis enables me to target even the most extreme behaviours and develop a plan with you.

Educational Assessments

I provide educational assessments that enable parents and teachers to understand a child’s learning strengths and weaknesses whilst also giving practical, effective, evidence-based strategies to maximise their potential. I have a special interest in literacy and dyslexia.

What makes my service unique?

My training enables me to adopt both an educational and clinical perspective. My skill set enables me to provide therapy sessions across all ages and I enjoy working with children, teenagers and adults. I’m also able to assess your child’s learning profile and then translate the results into a report relative to the classroom setting.

To register as an educational psychologist takes at least six years of full time tertiary education. In my case, I hold five university level qualifications, and have completed five full time and seven part time years of training.
