Life can bring a lot of hurt and difficulty, we need to be listened to with empathy and acceptance. We need the time and space to acknowledge what is difficult and receive understanding, knowledge, and support. To find meaning and fulfillment through the ups and downs of life.
Children, adolescent girls, adult women.
I have a friendly, warm, and approachable style, I love to instil hope and help you recognise the strength and resilience you have already shown. I listen deeply and endeavour to create a counselling relationship where you feel accepted and understood. I understand personally how difficult life can be, how alone you can feel when chronic health conditions and disability are part of your or a loved one’s life.
I have trained in a number of different counselling models and keep learning and adding to my knowledge to meet your individual needs.
My first career was as a preschool teacher, I have worked for The Ministry of Education with children who had additional needs. I have supported at-risk teen girls and young mums in a volunteer capacity. All of these experiences have been in ethnically diverse communities.
I am a mother of three young adult children, who all have lifelong chronic health conditions. I now have the privilege of journeying individually with people, understanding that life is often complex and challenging.
