Hello, my name is Vanessa Cole and I have counselled older children, adolescents and adults for six years now. I love meeting new people and partnering with them so that they may flourish and meet their goals. I believe that being truly seen and heard is the most important gift of all.
Each person is unique and normally come to counselling because something isn’t right or they would like help working through issues or feelings. I love getting to know people then working in partnership with them to sort through issues or meet their goals. Listening well is such an important component in therapy, and I strive to be in tune with what is important to people, and responsive to any feedback or changes a clients may want. I believe that everyone is inherently capable of sorting through most of life challenges, and that compassion and thoughtful reflection and questions can assist in this.
I work from Person Centred and Narrative Therapy Modalities and also offer Sand Tray and Drawing Therapy. I enjoy being creative with clients and seeing what they find is most useful. I believe the most important ingredients for effective counselling is having a natural warmth and compassion for people and offering them a safe confidential space to explore things.
