Counsellor: Health and Counselling Centre, Manukau Institute of Technology

Our friendly multi -disciplinary team engages with our students through the provision of accessible and services.

What you will be doing?
  • Providing counselling services to students in an appropriate and culturally safe way.
  • Referring and liaising with other health agencies and community services.
  • Assisting MIT staff to identity and manage the needs of 'at risk students'. 
  • Assisting with staff development and training in areas of expertise.
  • Working collaboratively and positively within the Student Experience and Success team promoting collaborative working relationships with academic departments and student support services. 
Our students bring a variety of issues and are diverse in terms of their age, ethnicity and culture. The successful applicant/s will need to be an experienced Counsellor or Psychotherapist with full membership to NZAC, or NZCCA or NZAP.  We require a minimum of a Bachelors qualification in counselling, or psychotherapy with the ability to work independently while also making a contribution to the wider team.

Health Practitioner Disciplinary Tribunal (HPDT): psychologists, psychotherapists, psychiatrists

The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal is established under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003. Its purpose is to adjudicate on charges of professional misconduct laid against health practitioners.

On behalf of the Minister of Health, we are currently seeking applications/nominations for the following positions.
  • Psychiatrist
  • Psychologist
  • Psychotherapist
Please note that any applicants for a health practitioner member position must hold a current practising certificate. If you are in doubt, please contact appointments@health.govt.nz to determine your eligibility.

Applicants from across New Zealand are welcome. The Tribunal will meet as and when required. The time commitment for hearings varies. It may be from one to four days depending on the nature of the case. The majority are heard within one to two days.

To nominate someone, or apply yourself, the following are required:
  • a declaration form for the relevant position, completed by you/the nominee (attached)
  • a covering letter, detailing your/the nominee's experience that is relevant to the HPDT and why the position is of interest to you/them

Counsellor/ Psychotherapist/Psychologist wanted for Auckland CBD

Your Focus Ltd is looking for an experienced practitioner to provide counselling/therapy services in the CBD. We have more referrals than we can manage. There is the option to receive referrals in your existing office or to sublet ours for 1-2 days with the opportunity to build up.

  • ACC registered or want to be and need some support to become registered.

We currently offer counselling to children, youth, adults, couples as well as facilitating groups for people affected by issues such as family violence and addiction. Our counsellors can choose to work from their own location, or ours, giving clients more choice and making our service more accessible.

We are looking for qualified and skilled counsellors to join our network in the Waikato. This contract suits people looking to grow their private practice or supplement their current income with a few weekly sessions. We offer ongoing admin support, promotional material and peer supervision.
