Therapy Services

Life can feel overwhelming at times. You may find yourself feeling anxious, depressed, or stuck and unsure of what to do. Reaching out for support takes courage – and you don’t have to do it alone.  I provide a caring, safe and non-judgemental space to talk through issues so you can move forward with clarity to make mindful decisions and conscious choices that affect your life.

I offer appointments in person and online for short or long term therapy.

Benefits of therapy include:

  • understanding what you want from life and relationships
  • finding healthier ways of resolving conflict at work and in relationships
  • building resilience and tolerating anxiety when challenging situations arise
  • healing emotional wounds and trauma
  • acknowledging strengths and skills you already have
  • leading a more fulfilling and happier life

Therapy Approach

I work holistically due to a wide range of training and experience. I use a person-centred approach. tailoring therapy to suit the individual person. My training includes psychodynamic, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mentalisation-based Therapy, Attachment theory, dream interpretation, Mindbody and humanistic psychologically based frameworks.

About Me

I began my interest in human suffering as a body therapist working with people living with chronic pain. My interest in psychotherapy began through recognising that we cannot separate mind and body experiences which can be felt at all levels – emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually (soul/intangible).

As a psychotherapist, I work holistically to understand who you are as a person and what your goals and needs are.  I welcome working with people of all cultures and genders. Each of us has unique experiences and therefore each person’s journey through life has challenges that only they have dealt with. Together, we delve into who you really are so that you get to understand the deeper aspects of yourself. This includes behaviours, unconscious triggers and defences that were used to cope and keep you safe through childhood and adolescence but are no longer working as an adult. Therapy helps find healthier ways of dealing with and building resilience when faced with challenges.

I was born in Aotearoa New Zealand but have lived in other countries and have an awareness of how cultures differ in worldviews, traditions and customs. Your life may be made up of complex beliefs and cultural experiences, sometimes seemingly contradictory.

I am caring and compassionate but also have a pragmatic outlook which is necessary to cope with the realities of life.  My previous psychotherapy experience includes working with people with complex mental health issues at the AIH Psychotherapy clinic and with groups and individuals at Segar House, a public mental health specialist service.
