Counselling Services and Approach

Kia ora and hello! I have some availability for both couples counselling and individuals. I also offer a free initial ten minute consultation by telephone.

I’m a registered counsellor with experience in addressing all kinds of concerns;  including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, anger management, stress and navigating life transitions. I have a particular interest and experience in assisting men and women who have suffered personal or intergenerational trauma, along with relationship issues. I practice EMDR.

Our first session will focus on clarifying what brings you to counselling and working with you to plan a way ahead. I aim to provide a warm, empathetic and supportive space but if you don’t feel we align, I can help you find a different therapist. I am quite straightforward and can be direct if need be.

About Me

I am originally from England and I hold a Masters in Counselling, alongside graduate diplomas in education and psychology earned in New Zealand. I offer in person counselling from an office in central Wellington, on-line therapy sessions or walk and talk therapy.

I have worked as a counsellor for the Wellington Women’s Health Collective and the Upper Hutt Women’s Centre and currently run my own practice.  I also see clients through ClearHead, an Employment Assistance Programme provider.

Prior to working as a counsellor I trained and worked in teaching, probation work and journalism.
