Hi, I’m Calem — a counsellor based in West Auckland who works with people who feel stuck, stressed, or disconnected. I have a particular interest in supporting men who are navigating inner conflict, shame, relationship challenges, or compulsive patterns.
Originally from the UK, I’ve called New Zealand home for over a decade. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in a range of jobs — but I kept being drawn to one thing: how people grow through struggle. My own experiences, both in life and in therapy, shape the respect I have for this work.
I’ve always been drawn to honest conversations — the kind that bring clarity, courage, and self-understanding.
Life can feel like a battle — especially when you’ve been taught to just push through. Maybe you’re carrying a quiet sense of failure, stuck in your own head, or caught in habits that numb things temporarily but leave you feeling worse — like porn, gaming, or substance use.
I work with people who are ready to make sense of that tension. Often there’s no single issue — just a mix of pressure, disconnection, and internal conflict. You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. I offer a space where you can explore what’s going on underneath, without judgment and without pressure to perform.
I don’t give advice or offer quick-fix solutions. My approach is steady, curious, and real — a space where change happens through honest reflection and the courage to look inward.
Stress, anxiety, and low mood
Inner conflict and self-doubt
Relationship and intimacy challenges
Addiction concerns (e.g. pornography, gaming, substance use)
Life transitions and identity
Trauma
Shame and emotional isolation
Many of the people I work with feel like they’re meant to be doing better — that they should “have it together” by now. I help them unpack the deeper patterns behind these struggles and move toward something more grounded and meaningful.

It's often said that the success of therapy depends largely on the relationship between client and therapist. Finding the right fit might be as simple as choosing someone you feel comfortable with and safe around.
Your first few sessions can be a good opportunity to notice how you feel in the space—whether you feel heard, understood, and at ease. It can help to reflect on what you’re looking for in therapy and whether this feels like the right environment for you.
Many people feel unsure about what to expect when starting therapy, and the first session can look different for everyone. In general, we might explore what’s bringing you in, what you hope to gain from therapy, and any questions you have. There’s no pressure to share more than you’re comfortable with—this is your space, and we’ll go at your pace.
Therapy is different for everyone. Some people come for just a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper exploration and change. We can discuss your needs and goals to find the right approach for you.
That’s totally fine — it’s more common than you’d think. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin. We’ll work together to make sense of what’s going on and where to start.
