I am originally from England and have worked clinically in the UK and New Zealand. I have practised as a medical doctor for several years, predominantly in psychiatry and community medicine. As a doctor, it was always the therapeutic conversations with patients and their families, that were the most affirming aspect of my job, which led me to pursuing psychotherapy. I see therapy as facilitating a place of safety and collaboration to get to the heart of a person’s challenges, to re-write stories, and offer lasting support, connection and change.
I practice psychodynamic therapy for individual adults and couples, helping to bring unconscious thoughts and behavioural patterns to light. I draw on my medical background where appropriate, utilising evidence based, trauma informed practise. Whilst as a therapist, I do not prescribe in this space, I can offer guidance and support in health matters. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing and Narrative Therapy techniques.
I often incorporate somatic methods into my practice. I am curious as to how emotion can sit in the body, and lead to experiences, pain and disturbance that modern medicine can’t always explain. I have an interest in relational therapy – our relationships, communities and interactions with the world being key factors in our wellbeing. I enjoy working creatively and utilising methods that are person suited, to encourage self-expression. I offer a humanistic approach and adapt my practice according to your needs.
I have undergone the full training certificate with the School of Psychedelics. I am a certified Embodied Imagination® practitioner, offering psychedelic preparation and integration. Embodied Imagination® is a tool, developed from Depth Psychology, where images that appear to us in liminal space, rather than analysed as symbols, are embodied, offering new insights and perspectives. In this way, meaning is made from such experiences that is felt rather than examined. This technique also works for anchoring dreams and memories.
I offer psychedelic preparation, integration and dreamwork as online single sessions with no ongoing commitment required. Please email to discuss further.
