Maxwell Sweeney

Counselling that empowers you

Kia ora, I’m Maxwell

I specialise in supporting people who identify as male from young adulthood onward. I have particular training in helping those dealing with:

  • anxiety
  • addiction
  • depression
  • grief
  • insomnia
  • trauma
  • stress
  • relationships
  • school / work stress

While these are areas I feel privileged to work in often, I welcome clients of all genders and from all walks of life. My values and life experience grant me the space to support individuals who feel caught in the negative patterns of life. If something’s weighing on you, I’m here to help.

Approach

Drawing on my three years of formal training, my approach integrates Person-Centred and Narrative Therapy. This means we’ll work together at your pace, without judgment. We’ll explore how life experiences, relationships, and societal pressures shape your story—and how you can rewrite it in a way that empowers you.

Final word

Taking the first step towards counselling can be tough, but you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a reduced cost 30-minute consultation so we can explore how I can support you. Follow my website link to book online or in-person. If you are uncertain about times or costs, message me to discuss options.
