Mindful Momentum Counselling: Your pathway to personal growth and wellbeing

You don’t Have to carry this alone

Hi, I’m Shannon, a counsellor based in Ōtautahi, Christchurch. I work with adults (18+) who want to explore their experiences in a safe, thoughtful space – without judgement or pressure.

Life’s challenges can leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain. In my counselling practice, I offer a safe, non- judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without pressure. Every person’s journey is unique. Together, we’ll gently explore your experience and move at a pace that feels right for you – working to unravel the complexities of your life and uncover your authentic self, one insight at a time.

People seek the benefits of counselling for many reasons, including:

  • anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges
  • grief, loss, or past trauma
  • burnout, stress or emotional exhaustion
  • low self-esteem, self-doubt, or body image concerns
  • life transitions or major decisions
  • identity, exploration, or questioning
  • gender, identity, or LGBTQIA+ exploration
  • relationship issues or challenges

Through our work together, you will gain insight of the underlying dynamics shaping your life. This deeper understanding can help you to make more informed decisions and pave the way for personal growth, healing, and transformation.

You don’t need to have the right words or a clear story. You just need to come as you are.

About Me

I know that choosing a counsellor can feel like a vulnerable step and it is important to find someone you feel comfortable with.

I didn’t come into this work as an academic, I was drawn to it through life experience (you’ll probably pick that up once you see my spelling). Like many people, I’ve had my own struggles and questions, and I know how much courage it takes to reach out for support. Alongside my professional training, that personal experience continues to shape the way I work. It helps me offer a space that is connected, empathetic, and real.

Personal Interests

  • enjoying the outdoors through walking and exploring nature
  • appreciating good humor and good friends
  • forever dabbling in and out of the paints as inspiration strikes
  • still enjoying cartoons – somethings never get old!
  • sharing life with my partner and our handful of lovable rescue cats

I invite you to get in touch if you would like to explore if we are a good therapeutic fit. No pressure to commit, just a space to say hello and see what might come next.
