Ben Armstrong

Quiet Mind Therapy

I’m a therapist based in Auckland, working with adults who want more clarity, emotional freedom, and a deeper connection with themselves and others. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that we heal in relationship, not in isolation.

People often come to see me when they’re feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck in old patterns, or struggling in their relationships. Some are navigating anxiety, depression, emotional numbness, anger, shame, chronic stress, or a sense of meaninglessness. Others describe a feeling of “holding it all together” on the outside while carrying a great deal internally.

Together we slow things down, discover patterns that may be holding you back and take small, steps toward a more fulfilling life and more satisfying relationships. We’ll also establish practical tools to strengthen your ability to learn from, accept, and adapt to whatever happens in your life.

My work is informed by advanced clinical training in Transactional Analysis, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy and stress reduction, narrative approaches, and international holistic perspectives on wellbeing. I also hold a Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy Studies and a Postgraduate Qualification in Addiction Studies. My background includes work in addiction treatment, men’s emotional development, and group processes.

I am a member of APANZ (Aotearoa Psychotherapy Association New Zealand), ITAA (International Transactional Analysis Association), and DAPAANZ (Addiction Practitioners’ Association Aotearoa–New Zealand).

What you can expect in our work is a calm, respectful, and emotionally attuned space. We’ll explore what’s happening beneath the surface, -your beliefs, feelings, needs, and long-standing protective strategies- with care and curiosity.

Over time, many clients describe feeling more grounded, more connected to themselves and others, and more able to navigate life with clarity and confidence.
