as a counsellor I provide a safe, calm space where healing can unfold naturally. My approach is grounded in empathy, gentleness, and respect for each person’s unique journey, drawing on person-centered therapy to honour your experiences and inner wisdom.
I work with people across all ages and stages of life. Whether your an adult navigating life’s challenges, an adolescent finding your way, or a child needing support, I tailor my approach to suit you. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, grief, or family harm, I’m here to walk alongside you to discover your own resilience and capacity for growth.
I integrate evidence-based approaches, including play-based therapy, CBT, and polyvagal theory to support emotional regulation and nervous system healing. I also practice Brainspotting, as a gentle way to process and help heal trauma.
PLAY-BASED THERAPY
For tamariki I provide a dedicated play-based therapy space where children can explore, express, and heal through the natural language of play. Children often communicate their deepest feelings and experiences through play, as words can be difficult, or may not come naturally yet. In this safe, supportive environment tamariki can work through challenging emotions and experiences at their own pace.
Play-based therapy allows children to process trauma, build resilience, develop coping skills, and make sense of their world in a way that feels natural and empowering to them.
ABOUT ME
I’m an open, gentle, and non-judgemental counsellor who really enjoys building therapeutic relationships with my clients. A a working mother of three, I understand life’s complexities and the importance of having support during challenging times.
Like many people, Covid prompted me to reflect on what really mattered – I realised I wanted to do work that genuinely helped people, so I made the leap into counselling and studied an Manukau Institute of Technology.
My family and I moved to beautiful Waihi a few years ago from Hamilton, and we’ve loved becoming part of this community. Outside of counselling, you’ll find me spending time with my family and our dogs, watching movies or playing board games.
