Many people who find their way to this work have spent a long time trying to put words to experiences that don’t always fit easily into ordinary conversation. They may feel things intensely, think in complex or creative ways, or find that their inner world moves in images, sensations, or metaphor rather than straightforward explanations.
I work especially well with people who feel deeply, think creatively, or have struggled to find therapy that makes space for imagination, sensitivity, or non-linear ways of processing experience.
Often people come to this work after trying other kinds of therapy and wanting something that allows more space for imagination, creativity, or body awareness.
I offer online creative arts therapy and counselling. Sessions are primarily conversation, with optional creative approaches such as writing, imagery, or simple art processes when helpful. You do not need to be artistic as these are simply ways of giving shape to experiences that can be hard to put into words.
My approach is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming, and queer-affirming. I work gently and collaboratively, paying attention to the nervous system and moving at a pace that feels safe and respectful of your boundaries.
Therapy with me can support people who are navigating things like:
• anxiety, overwhelm, or burnout
• identity questions or life transitions
• creative blocks or loss of direction
• relationship difficulties
• trauma and recovery from past harm
• feeling disconnected from yourself or your sense of meaning
Many people who seek this kind of work are thoughtful, reflective people who are looking for a space where complexity and curiosity are welcome.
If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, we can begin with a 20-minute free introductory conversation to see whether working together might feel like a good fit. You can book by contacting me. You’re also welcome to email me with any questions.
I work with adults navigating experiences such as:
• anxiety and overwhelm
• low mood or depression
• stress and burnout
• identity questions and life transitions
• relationship and family challenges
• grief and loss
• emotional regulation difficulties
• trauma (mild to moderate)
I often work especially well with people who are:
• highly sensitive, creative, or emotionally attuned
• exploring identity, belonging, or difference
• feeling out of step with dominant systems, expectations, or norms
I welcome LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent adults, including people who are questioning, late-identified, or still finding language for their experience. I am also affirming of consensual non-monogamous and diverse relationship structures.
I approach this work with curiosity, humility, and care. My practice is trauma-informed, identity-affirming, and grounded in respect for diversity and lived experience.
I pay close attention to power, consent, and boundaries, and aim to create a space where you can bring your whole self. I also engage in ongoing supervision and professional development to support ethical and reflective practice.
To ensure safety and appropriate care, I am not currently working with:
• people experiencing active suicidal ideation or high-risk crisis
• severe or complex mental health presentations requiring intensive or in-person support

No. Creative Arts Therapy is not about artistic skill. We mostly talk, and any creative or reflective approaches are optional and very simple. You don’t need any experience or materials.
Sessions are grounded in conversation. We’ll talk about what’s been going on for you and what support you’re looking for. If it feels helpful, we may also use reflection, imagery, writing, or simple creative exercises. We go at your pace and regularly check in about what’s working.
All Talking Works sessions are currently offered online via Zoom.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, burnout, grief, relationship difficulties, identity questions, life transitions, and mild to moderate trauma-related distress.
Yes. My practice is flexible, sensory-aware, and responsive to different ways of thinking, feeling, and processing. Sessions are adapted to suit your needs and preferences.
No. Talking is always available, but you don’t have to fill the space. Silence, reflection, or working with imagery or writing are all welcome if helpful.
That’s okay. Many people begin therapy feeling unsure. We can take time to explore what you’re hoping for and whether this approach feels like a good fit.
Because I work online and in a reflective style, I’m not the right fit for active crisis or urgent mental health needs. If you’re feeling unsafe, it’s important to contact your local crisis service, mental health team, or emergency services for immediate support.
Yes. Sessions are confidential, with the usual professional and legal limits to confidentiality explained at the beginning of our work together.
