Kate Henry

Psychotherapist

Hi, I’m Kate, a psychotherapist dedicated to helping people feel supported, understood, and to create meaningful change in their lives.

You may be looking at therapy to

  • Get things off your chest – just saying it to someone
  • Understand yourself better – why you feel triggered, recognising patterns
  • Grow – to experience more peace, confidence or healthier relationships
  • Notice behaviours that hurt – anxiety spirals, lack of boundaries, self-doubt, coping mechanisms
  • Not feel so alone in pain – recent losses and old wounds
  • You don’t have to be in crisis to access therapy, sometimes it can feel like we’re stuck in a loop, we know something needs to change, we just can’t seem to break the cycle, and a little help is needed.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. I work with clients to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, build emotional resilience, and develop practical tools for everyday life. My goal is to create a safe, non‑judgmental environment where you can show up exactly as you are.

I trained as a nurse in my twenties, and some 20 years later began training as a Psychotherapist. I decided to retrain as a psychotherapist after gaining meaning from sitting and talking with patients in my care as a nurse, especially on night shift when things may come to the surface.

As a nurse I worked in both public and private hospital settings, in a range of areas. As a psychotherapist I have been working in a residential rehabilitation centre, which has been meaningful to help people find their way through addiction.

Common issues that people have seen me for include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • stress
  • painful memories
  • family issues /relationship issues
  • addiction
