My name is Claire Weatherford and I am a Registered Psychologist. I have worked in a range of settings including early intervention, non-government organizations, specialist mental health services for children and adolescents (CAF), and private practice. My experience includes working alongside young people and their families to assess and treat a vast range of difficulties.
I am passionate about creating a safe space for young people and their families to explore difficulties and together navigate a pathway forward. My approach is strengths-based, collaborative, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally responsive, with the hope to support each individual to feel understood, valued, and safe. I have an eclectic approach and tailor interventions to be inclusive to suit individual needs and family culture.
I offer a variety of evidence-based interventions and draw from the following modalities:
- Registered Psychologist
- Member of New Zealand Psychological Society (MNZPsS)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Family Psychology (University of Canterbury)
- Master of Arts (with Distinction, Child and Family Psychology, University of Canterbury)
