Kia ora,

My name is Claire Weatherford and I am a Registered Psychologist. I have worked in a range of settings including early intervention, non-government organizations, specialist mental health services for children and adolescents (CAF), and private practice. My experience includes working alongside young people and their families to assess and treat a vast range of difficulties.

My therapeutic approach:

I am passionate about creating a safe space for young people and their families to explore difficulties and together navigate a pathway forward.  My approach is strengths-based, collaborative, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and culturally responsive, with the hope to support each individual to feel understood, valued, and safe. I have an eclectic approach and tailor interventions to be inclusive to suit individual needs and family culture.

I offer a variety of evidence-based interventions and draw from the following modalities:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
  • Trauma-Focussed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)

Q Qualifications

- Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Family Psychology (University of Canterbury)
- Master of Arts (with Distinction, Child and Family Psychology, University of Canterbury)
- Bachelor of Arts (First Class Pass, Psychology and Education, Rehabilitation Studies, Massey University)

Q Fees

- Each session is 50 minute and cost $210 inclusive of GST.
- Payments can be made by direct debit/internet banking (further details provided at appointment).

Q Cancellations

- Please note, a 50% cancellation fees will apply if an appointment is cancelled within the 48 hour period and the full fee will be invoiced for cancellations or 'no shows' within the 24 hour period of an appointment.

Q Availability

In person appointments: Mondays 1pm-6pm and Fridays 8am-6pm
