As a counsellor and psychotherapist, I help people reduce immediate distress, reflect on and process painful experiences, deepen self-understanding, strengthen relationships and discover new and more fulfilling ways of being themselves in the world. I work predominantly with young adults aged between 18 and mid-30’s.
My approach is relational, collaborative and compassionate.
I provide a meaningful and authentic human relationship for you to build understanding of your difficulties and find effective solutions. I am empathic, curious and honest. Drawing on diverse relational, cultural and humanistic theories, I adjust to clients individual needs and contexts. Together, we can help you find your way forward.
Significant research has found the quality of our relationships is the most powerful determinant of overall emotional well-being. Who we become and how we perceive the world is determined by our relational experiences, needs and interpretations.
Relational therapy offers an opportunity to explore the impact relationships have on you and how this may influence your present distress. Deeper awareness of these patterns in your life can allow you to make new choices.
Often, what you are struggling with in relationships outside of therapy can come alive in the therapeutic relationship, offering you an opportunity to work through social difficulties in a safe and empathic connection.
At the moment, I am working on short term basis and cannot offer long term psychotherapy.
If you think I could be a good fit for you feel free to reach out.

I grew up on a farm near the ocean in Mohua Golden Bay, Aotearoa. During my twenties, I spent many years backpacking all over the world and living overseas. This had a significant impact on who I became and how I understand humanity. My late twenties were spent in post-graduate study at AUT, where my thesis topic centred on the relationship between climate anxiety and attachment theory. Now solidly in my thirties, I enjoy a quieter life. I follow my interests in art, music, climate action, yoga, psychedelic medicine, spirituality and community.
I have previously worked in suicide prevention, crisis counselling, spiritual development, financial hardship, complex mental health, and sexual trauma therapy.
Tāmaki Makaurau is now my home and my office is located in Herne Bay.
