Sometimes we can feel overwhelmed by painful feelings, or we seem to be stuck in patterns. A benefit of psychotherapy is in helping us understand how our past experiences and unconscious thoughts might influence what we are feeling and doing now, in our daily lives. As we come to understand ourselves better, we can start to feel significantly better.
I am a registered psychotherapist and I work with adults (18 and over). I use the Conversational Model of psychodynamic therapy, an approach with a strong research base supporting its efficacy. A secure, safe therapeutic relationship is the basis of this model. We work together over time to build a stronger sense of personal identity and wellbeing.
