Sarah Rankin

SR Psychology

Life can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially during periods of stress, change, uncertainty or emotional exhaustion. I am a registered psychologist, with specialised training in health psychology. I work with young people (18+) and adults who may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, health concerns or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer feel manageable.

My approach is warm, collaborative and tailored to each individual. Together, we work to better understand what’s been happening, develop practical strategies to manage challenges and build greater resilience, self-understanding and emotional wellbeing over time.

My Approach

My work is grounded in health psychology and from experience across hospital and primary care settings. I take a holistic approach that recognises the connection between physical health, emotional wellbeing and daily life, helping clients move forward with greater confidence and resilience. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and compassion-focused therapy, tailoring treatment to your needs to support greater clarity, coping and wellbeing.

It can be hard to reach out for support, especially when things feel unclear or overwhelming. I aim to offer a calm, supportive space where you can slow things down, feel understood and explore what’s been happening at your own pace. You’re welcome to get in touch whenever feels right for you.

FAQs

Q How many session will I need?

The number of sessions varies depending on what you would like support with, your goals for therapy, and how long difficulties have been present. Some people find that a shorter-term approach feels most helpful, while others prefer longer-term support.

Many clients attend between 3–6 sessions, particularly when focusing on a specific issue or developing strategies to manage stress, anxiety, or life changes. For more longstanding or complex difficulties, therapy may extend to around 10–12 sessions or longer.

We will regularly review how things are going together, with therapy tailored to your individual needs and pace.

Q What are your fees?

- Initial appointments (up to 75 minutes): $230
- Follow up appointments (50-55 minutes): $200
- Payment is due on the day of your appointment. If you have any questions about fees or the therapy process, you’re welcome to get in touch.

Q What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice where possible. This allows the appointment time to be offered to someone else who may be waiting for support.

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, may be charged 50% of the appointment fee. Appointments cancelled within 24 hours, or missed appointments, may incur the full session fee.

Q Do you have funded options for appointments?

You may be able to access funded EAP sessions through your workplace via Clearhead. A link to my profile can be found here: https://www.myclearhead.com/practitioners/Sarah_Rankin
