Counselling/Therapy Services

Relationship Counselling
Our relationships with our loved ones are significant. They are the source of our greatest joy and can also be the cause of our greatest pain. All of us feel stuck and disconnected at times. Couples often arrive in crisis or feeling disheartened about their relationship. Some of the issues I work with include:
  • hurts, affairs, life transitions, loss and grief, and
  • couples wanting to transform and strengthen their relationship.

Individual Psychotherapy and Counselling
Trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, I help you to understand how your childhood and early experiences have shaped your current day relationships and emotional responses to life situations. Goals centre on self-awareness and understanding the influence of the past on present behaviour. As therapy progresses new responses are explored and a new awareness and understanding unfolds.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

I use an approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) which is the fastest growing evidence-based approach to working with couples. Over and over again in my office I have experienced its power to help a wide range of couples such as same sex couples and couples from diverse cultural and spiritual backgrounds. EFT focuses on identifying our relationship and attachment patterns and how these influence the way we try to get our needs met. I can help you to reconnect with your important loved ones. As a Certified ICEEFT Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor I am committed to ongoing supervision and training in EFT.

I have also trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy and client centred counselling.
