Counselling can be a useful tool when you find yourself struggling with stress, challenging relationships, uncomfortable emotions, intrusive thoughts and many other situations that make it challenging to thrive.
We will work together to understand the source of distress in your life and how the problem operates and then address it. Sessions with me usually include homework in order to practice skills and strategies outside the counselling room in every day life.
Narrative therapy is non-judgmental and non-pathologising. It allows us to look at problems together as something external from the person they are happening to and not think about them as being related to an internal individual failing.
I also incorporate the use of:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
- Self-Compassion focused therapy
