Counselling/Therapy Services

Anyone can benefit from seeing a clinical psychologist. Most people will find they have times in their life where they need more support and are finding it difficult to cope with the way they are feeling. Whether you meet criteria for a psychological disorder or not, you may no longer be able to do things that you used to do with ease. This could be motivating yourself, meeting up with friends and family, getting out of the house, or struggling to maintain relationships. You may find that you are trapped in the same behaviour or thinking patterns and not able to shift them.

I can work together with you to gain insight into yourself and look at strategies and skills that can help you to cope. My therapy is based on techniques that are proven through scientific research to be helpful for many people.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

I am a Clinical Psychologist registered with the New Zealand Psychology Board. To become a Clinical Psychologist I completed seven years of University level training. My research was in neuroscience/neuropsychology.

My clinical training had a primary focus in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have also completed additional training in:
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)
  • Mindfulness (this is a large component of DBT)
  • Compassion Focused Therapy
